An Appeal to the User/Reader By Librarian S.Gurmukh Singh
Let us take pledge before going towards the library
“I promise that I will read and gain the maximum knowledge from the library. I will help to maintain the discipline in the library. I will encourage the other reader for reading. I will obey the library rules.”
A school library (or a school library media centre) is a library within a school where students, staff, and often, parents of a public (state) or private (fee paying) school have access to a variety of resources. The goal of the school library media centre is to ensure that all members of the school community have equitable access “to books and reading, to information, and to information technology.”[1] A school library media centre “uses all types of media… is automated, and utilizes the Internet [as well as books] for information gathering.”[2] School libraries are distinct from public libraries because they serve as “learner-oriented laboratories which support, extend, and individualize the school’s curriculum… A school library serves as the centre and coordinating agency for all material used in the school
So due to a lot of library importance and role of library in the our life.I request to all the Reader and User of Library to use the Library at the maximum scale. The Reader should gain and avail the all the resources of Library. Also one thing more to keep in mind to cooperate the librarian, should assist him/her . Please also note the following points.
The little effort of Students can save the precious time of the Librarian for providing the Best service .Also can change the environment of the Temple of knowledge library .So while taking Books, Magazines and using other library service please follow the points.
- While entering the Library, ask yourself where I am going, am i going for Learning/Reading.
- While returning from the library, ask yourself , what I learnt today, whether I use or not use my precious time in reading.
- While taking the books from the please Almirah arrange /maintain the order of books in the same way, it is your Identity of being a Responsible Reader.
- While taking the Magazines/Newspaper from the Rack please arrange /maintain the order of Magazines /Newspapers in the same way, it is your Identity of being a Responsible Reader.
- While sitting in the Library every Reader should have only one Motto of learning, gaining knowledge, utilise the library resources and should not waste one unit of precious time.
- Your Silence in the Library will help the other Reader/User to maintain his/her consistency while reading in the Library.
- Request politely and encourage or motivate nearby sitting students for reading those who are not reading or not using the library resources properly and they are wasting their precious time in talking and gossiping .So remind them politely the value of library, the contribution of students will help to create the educational atmosphere in the library.
- If you will read then it would impact on other reader.
